A successful January
The month of January was a successful month for baptisms. 24 converts entered the waters and started their journey to return to Heavenly Father. Our goal was 20. We are continuing to see the success of following the counsels of Elder Golden who visited the mission in October of 2015. Our missionaries a working hard and seeking the Spirit in all they do.

On December 22nd the mission received permission to hold an all-mission Christmas Devotional. Inspirational music and spoken word lifted the spirits of all and helped give renewed vigor for bringing souls unto our Savior. The missionaries enjoyed a great lunch and were very glad to receive the many packages sent from home with much love.

My Plan
As noted in the July 2015 issue of the Ensign, the church has developed a program called My Plan. This new resource is designed to help returning missionaries continue on the path of discipleship. My Plan has now become available for the missionaries in our mission. The program and it's instructions are available through the online missionary portal. Parents can learn more information at myplan.lds.org.

Abitibi Branch
Yesterday, Sunday, November 29, 2015, a meeting was held in Rouyn-Noranda. During this meeting the Abitibi Branch in the Ottawa Stake was merged with the Temiskaming Branch in the Sudbury Stake. This results in a change to our mission boundaries. With the approval of a member of the Quorum of the Twelve, the four elders currently serving in Rouyn and Abitibi areas have been reassigned to the Toronto Mission. We will miss them, and wish them well in their new and exciting prospects.

Montréal Temple Rededication

The Montréal Québec temple was originally dedicated in 2000 by President Gordon B. Hinckley and was closed for renovation on June 2, 2014.
Yesterday, Sunday, November 22, 2015, the temple was rededicated. President Henry B. Eyring of the First Presidency performed the dedication in three sessions. Bishop Gérald Caussé, the Presiding Bishop of the church; Elder L. Whitney Clayton of the Presidency of the Seventy; and Elders Anthony D. Perkins and Kent F. Richards of the Seventy were all in attendance. The dedication sessions were broadcast to meetinghouses across Canada.
The Montréal temple is the only temple within the Canada Montréal mission boundaries, so it was an exciting day for the missionaries to have their local temple open again. In accordance with guidelines in the Mission President's Handbook, missionaries are allowed to attend the temple once a transfer on preparation day. There are other applicable guidelines for temple attendance that President Patrick has distributed to the missionaries.
